Ollie Grogono (13yrs) of St Mawes SC has just successfully competed at
the UK IOCA World Selections Event and has won a position on the
prestigious Team GBR. Later this year as part of a 5 sailor squad, he
will be representing his country at the Optimist World Sailing
Championships to be held in Langkawi, MALAYSIA.

Competition for places on the World's Team is extremely fierce as
these are Britain's best junior sailors. Just to compete at the
Selection Event sailors have had to gain an invitation from results
gained racing in huge fleets of up to 250 other boats. For Ollie this is
a highlight of his sailing career and is the goal he has been working
towards for the last few years.

This summer he will be competing at home and abroad in preparation for
the World Championships whilst working on tactics and fitness. Younger brother Freddie finished top junior Optimist sailor (under 12) and qualified to represent GBR in France.
