St Mawes One Design "Saskia" £2,500. photo, and more info Built in 1937 at Ponsharden to the Frankie Peters design, Saskia is a beautiful much loved quarter-decked family sailing boat. She is carvel constructed, bermudan rigged with a furling jib. She is incredibly stable with a 150lb swinging centre plate. She is ideal for family day cruising and there is an active racing one design class at the St Mawes Sailing Club. She is currently at Marcus Lewis' Wooden Boat Builder yard in Fowey having a new wooden mast, new standing rigging and her beautiful pine deck rubbed down and varnished as part of a spruce up and anti-foul for the coming season. She comes with sails which were serviced in at the end of the 2010/11 season which are suitable for cruising (but a keen racer may want to invest in a new suite), swinging and fixed transom hung rudders, whisper pole, reefing claw and boom reefing handle, outboard bracket, buoyancy bags, fenders, anchor, mooring lines and a road trailer. 15.5ft Yawl £6,750 "Windrush" is a roomy Whisstock designed Yawl constructed of marine ply and mahogany epoxy. Photo Although her hull was built in 2000 she was not fitted out with her spars and sails until 2007 so she was then in effect new. She has a painted red hull all other areas are varnished apart from floor boards which are cream. She is very comfortable and has a lifting metal centre plate with many bronze and brass fittings and built in buoyancy compartments. She would make an ideal Raid Boat. She comes with all gear ready to sail including a Wykham Martin Roller Reefing system on the Jib. Her hull has just been repainted and she has a serviced 4hp Mercury Outboard. International Folkboat. "Ianthe of Wight" £7,500 Photo: Click here I bought her with my brother in 1971. She is built in 1968 and did well in club events and especially Round the Island Race coming 2nd in her class twice (probably 1st on one occassion as winner started in class ahead!). Although not in class I believe this would be fairly simple. She is virtually unmodified and in condition we raced. I repainted her hull in 1990.
